Why EV comes first

Expected value is the long-run average return of a betting decision. If your process repeatedly finds prices that are too high relative to true probability, your decisions carry positive EV.

Practical workflow

  1. Start from a fair probability estimate.
  2. Compare that estimate with available bookmaker prices.
  3. Execute only when the gap is large enough to justify variance and execution risk.
